TLS provides educational services and programming for BGSU and the public.

Television Learning Services of WBGU-PBS schedules programs on the BGSU Channel 6 of Time Warner. Channel 6 reaches all cable subscribers of Time Warner Bowling Green both on and off campus. Instructional programs and telecourses for the public have priority on this channel but other programs can be transmitted.

BGSU Cable TV Programming Mission Statement
Bowling Green State University has the use of cable channel 6 under agreement with Time Warner Television Corporation. As provided by contract, BGSU programs channel 6 exclusively for non-commercial educational and informational purposes. BGSU will transmit cable channel 6 television programming that is dedicated to enhancing the educational mission of the University. To that end, the cable facility's objectives may include the following:
* to expand opportunities for instruction and public information;
* to enrich the culture of campus and community;
* to offer a forum for discussion and debate;
* to provide academic areas and extension of their instructional and research activities;
* to serve limited audiences and specialized needs that may not be met by other media;
* to support the university in its efforts to communicate to its various publics.

Program Standards
The Director of Television Learning Services, applicants and sponsors should review programs for transmission in light of the following criteria:
 a. The BGSU Cable TV Programming Mission Statement
 b. Law: legal liability on the part of the University such as libel, copyright infringement, obscenity, separation of church and state, FCC regulations concerning political programs, or other legal matters involved in the program.
 c. Production values of the program such as accuracy, lighting, editing, camera work, etc. which may adversely affect the program or which reflect poorly upon the University.
 d. Technical quality of the program which may prohibit transmission with a consistent and clear signal. Generally, videotapes may be transmitted provided they can be played on standard 3/4" U-matic or 1/2" VHS videotape recorders without loss of sync pulse, servo control, or need for manual adjustments during playback. Programs must be recorded with 80-100% video as well as without distorted or over-modulated audio.
